Service with Princess's baptism

Can be seen at here at Crossgates Baptists' website.
Its the Sunday night service, Nov 16. There is one song, and then the baptisms start, and Princess is the first one.

We have a DVD, and I may get a clip off of it,but haven't had a chance yet.

I'm going Bear Hunting...

At least that is what Punkin' told me last night. Too funny. What happend was, the girls where with their dad at the neighbors house. The neighbor told spouse that he could go deer hunting with him at some point this season. Princess asked if she could go, and he said that her AND punkin' could go, but it was a lot like camping..cold and boring. :-)

Apparently Punkin heard "bear" instead of "deer" so she came flying in the house and told me she was going bear hunting. HA!

Anyway, neighbor and his son went deer hunting, and the son got his first one today! So they brought it by the house to show us, and of course, the kid got bloodied up when the cleaned it. A nice, 200 lb 6 point.

"Dating"

The spouse & I went and had Thanksgiving lunch with Princess at school yesterday. The teacher really went all out. ANYWAY, Princess, at the ripe old age of 7, has a "boyfriend" we've heard about this little guy, and he's called Princess on the phone. I dont think I blogged about it, but spouse had MAJOR troubles with this kid calling. I reminded him that it was HIS idea that princess learn the phone number, and he didn't give her any ground rules about giving it out...hehe.

Well, I was helping at the dessert table, so this info is second hand from the spouse.

"Are you Princess's dad?" - kid
"I am"-spouse
"Did you know princess and I are dating? And I call her on the phone" - kid (Brave, in my opinion!)
"I know you've called her. So, tell me. what do you do?" - spouse
"I'm a plumber"- kid
"REALLY?"-spouse (with chuckle)
"no, not really, but my dad is"

Spouse got a big kick outa that one!

so why is it when things start going wrong...they go wrong like dominos fall?

Today started off with over flowing washer drain. We foam snaked it, but that didn't work. So the real snake will come out later.

Then, come home from work, pick up some pizza, eat and take the kids to choir practice. Just stuck in traffic on Hwy 80, because there was a wreck or something at the interstate, and the cars kept blocking the light. GRR! Sat through 4 lights before a cop started directing traffic. 25 minutes to get to church, when it normally takes like 8. Because we waited so long, punkin' fell asleep in the car.

10 min nap = ILL CHILD. So, we all get out of the car, make it into church, I look down at Punkin, and she has what looks like hives all over her face. So I take her back out of church, run to the nearest store, get her some benadryl, and give it to her. Decide to just keep her with me, so we go to the resource room and I gather supplies for Sunday morning class. Not sure why her face broke out, she seems fine now.

Get home, get back in the house...remember, still have to deal with the washer, and discover that while we were gone, Toby ate an ENTIRE bar of Ivory soap. Great. Google quickly, and find out that he'll probably vomit and poop soap all night. YEAH! Ain't THAT grand? LOL

But, at least its almost bedtime, and tomorrow will be better, right?

"appatized"

Tonight, Princess was to be baptized at church. She asked me if her sister could watch, and I told her she could. So Punkin went to big church, for the baptisms and then the music. Anyway, on the way into the church, we were walking through the parking lot, and Punkin' told me that she was going to see her big sister get "appatized", and that she was excited. Too cute!

Anyway, Princess handled herself beautifully, and momma of course cried. They baptized seven tonight, and Princess was the first one. I was so proud of her.

During the last song, Punkin informed me she was ready to go to class. So I took her back to the preschool. They made fruit loop necklaces..which if course is WAAAY more fun than listening to the preacher, if you are 3. ;-)

Stay tuned..the church is giving us a free DVD of the service, so I'm sure a clip will surface soon!

Zoo update

Goldie is going nuts in the kennel. I can tell she feels better, but she is HATING being locked up. Not that I blame her. She doesn't go back to the vet until the 1st wk of December. Yikes. We are getting her out more, and letting her hang with us, but she still can't be off leash & run around.

Toby is as nuts as ever. He's decided that if Goldie can't come play with him, the he, along with the neighbors dog Goofy, ought to dig their way to each other under the fence. And if that doesn't work, he'd like to add a basement to the house. Ain't that grand? So its a constant hole filling-paver laying battle this week. ARGH! I also put some dog repellent out...but then it rained. And then yesterday, I was messing with Emma, singing in a low voice coming in the door, and he came tearing into the kitchen barking like a mad dog, until he saw me, then he nearly slid into the cabinets. I guess my voice messed with him. After that, I would mess with him by singing in a low voice after he laid down, and he would get back up and come sniff me...every time. It was funny.

Rascal fell off the counter this morning trying to catch a moth. He gave me that look only cats can give that said, "what did you push me for?!" Even though I was across the room.

Small Kitty, well, I dont know what she is doing. She hides so much I haven't seen her lately.

Fun Time

Ok, so Danielle tagged me in a photo game. So since I've been tagged, and tend to be a people pleaser, I'll play.

The game is to go to your pictures folder, fourth folder, fourth picture, post and explain. So I said ok, I'll play. So here you go: This picture is of Spouse and Princess, November 2003, during a short beach vacation. :-)

So now, I tag anyone who wants to play!
